So it's summer and we're getting thoroughly compensated for last year's summer bust. May was extremely wonderful, June was nice, but July is a scorcher! We've been spending a lot of time at the grocery store where there's AC  chuckle.gif

Right now at 7:30 in the evening it's 30+ (86+) degrees in the shade. It was about 34 (93) in the afternoon. And there's no fkn wind at all. The ac at work does not work and everyone who knows anything about it is on vacation. I bought a baby pool though so there's that...

These are yesterday's temps, it was warmer today. An all time heat record for northern Lapland with 33.4C

I feel for you we had to suffer through a couple weeks during a heat wave here without AC but we have it now and it's always on because it's always hot or in heat wave mode here too.

The kidie pool sounds like fun. Is it for dipping your toes into or most of your body?

damned.gif It's warmer there than here. I heard the people covering the Trump Putin summit were shocked how warm it is and that Finns are not big on AC.

Seems like it's been a scorcher everywhere in the northern hemisphere this month.
We were in the triple digits from NYC to Portland and finally a cool front is passing through.
Our AC works beautifully but I enjoy spending time outdoors on our deck so I sprayed the row of arborvitae trees with water and a subtle but definitely noticeable breeze cooled the surrounding area.
Apparently, the Romans hung wet fabric from the ceilings during the summer for the same effect.

I was reading this thread and started sweating.

It's still hot as hell here but at least we have a couple of window units to keep us cool. Our central air is still broken.

..have an ac unit but disliked the switching in/out process needed every year nor do i like fake chilled airflow in my home
or the noise it makes-drove me nuts..going to sell or give away that beast.. is almost still new.
..so if too hot out i can utilize the naturally cooled basement or hit the lake to cool off- which i always did before i tried that thang out (it was a gift)

Well.. we're on the coast and there are 187 000 lake scattered around the land so there are places to cool off. I read on the news there's a parking mayhem going on at many beaches here right now. I bet they're making a fortune in parking fines.

Now you know where you can donate that AC, Nightmare

Yeah I was kidding. Not to mention the shipping cost and taxes damned.gif

I can't stand cold draft, I don't personally know any natives to Finland that does. JR makes fun of me because of it, I don't like any airflow on me at all unless it's the wind chuckle.gif

I do tolerate table fans aimed at me right now though, feels great at night. And we have this new mattress that really keeps the air flowing and gives me a good night sleep

Feed JR lots of beans and cabbage and he can keep the air moving for you.
