We are off-grid in Southern Greece and it's hotter'n hell, but we use a misting fan, which is basically an electric fan that blows a fine mist of water. It can drop the temperature in a room by up to 8 degrees c and they are cheap to buy - think around $100.00

I recommend them to anyone suffering with this crazy heat.

It has been so hot and dry here that my province is on fire. There are many uncontrolled fires and I am watching one very close to my home. It is raining today and but it seems that is not enough moisture to quell the fires. I discussed evacuation procedures with everyone yesterday because my sis has 12 cats to think about too.

İmage

The bottom last red (extreme) fire symbol on the right is very close to where our home is.

Oh my... You and yours stay safe US.
We're dangerously warm and dry as well, it's a little scary to be honest and I'm sure it's the same for you.

Yes, we are very scared but we have our evacuation procedures in place and I'm watching the fire map all the time. Thanks for your concern JR. hug.gif

I hate to hear that, I know how bad things can get up there during a dry summer. I didn't realize Finland was dry too, we have rain and about 73. Comfy for a change.

Over here they say there's no sign of an end to this heatwave, but at least 2 more weeks of this as far as their forecasts go damned.gif Our cooler is supposed to arrive on Monday. It's shipped by UPS so it may arrive before the weekend hyper.gif

I couldn't help but notice all the rain on the East coast and the cool temps down South.
Strangeness all over.

Strangeness all over.

My daughter says that it's really muggy in NYC.
It's all the spraying (high altitude cloud seeding)
Out here in the west.
It looks like a checkerboard of trails and all of the moisture shoots over on the jet stream to the east, causing flooding (in D.C. For example)
Leaving us high and dry, prime for forest fires.
It's really not strange, it's geoengineering.
They wanna see how bad they can make it.
