Adam was a man. The piece cut out is your heart (asherah-wife). At least in this environment it becomes a different person.
In the spirit you create alters/fractals (rather they are created from you based on your thoughts, clothes, etc). That's the multiplication going on here. Animal fractals? I guess. But there's also a reincarnation scheme here.
