Fires in that area are normal and yearly, but because of warm, dry tinder-box and windy conditions, this fire was almost impossible to fight. The firefighters there said they have to rewrite the rules of firefighting for these types of fires.

Lat I hear, a few days ago, it was over 600 square miles in size and over 90,000 people had to evacuate.

Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to poor

Yeah it does, there are a couple of fires in Sweden atm, but nothing too bad here. We do have a forest fire warning in place though. Sometimes we get smoke from fires in Russia. 13.gif

There is a reason many Native American tribes used to keep the plains and forests burned off. It keeps the fuel from building up.

I didn't know that, but it makes a lot of sense. Why don't they do it now, I wonder.

They are saying it is a 'wake up call' and people living in heavily forested areas need to let them burn.
