Thanks Gumby

I spend all spring and Summer building these bikes .

I take the Vintage 10 and 12 speed bikes and turn them into 16 to 24 speed
touring bikes .

I gave $20 for this bike in rusty condition
then sold it to my friend Eric for $80, he wanted the crank , rims , bars and levers .

he then gave it back to me for $10

funny kinda deal ,,, no?

yeah , I know , but we do that all the time , he likes to seel the parts on ebay .

then he sells them back to me for $10 , I go glean the parts from free boxes , and rebuild
the bikes by updating the parts to new stuff .

Hi Octo ,,
these need the gears because people who buy them , usually use them for long distance
Touring up and down the West Coast of the U.S. ( lots of up and down on the Coast
highway )

The frame on this is one of the high quality frames built in the late 1980's to mid 1990's

these frames are sought after for their light but strong durability .

Oh I sure understand why gears would be needed where you're at. JR's painting my bike this spring, but I haven't decided on a color yet hmm.gif

Rog', that is a very nice bike, was always partial to Schwinn, the Crates Series were like the Harley Davidson of bicycles when I was growing up.
