What Is It That Psychologically Causes The Public. . .

. . .to generally care more about devastating incidents that occur in places that are more or less stable, peaceful, prosperous, and where the civil society is still intact, as opposed to places where those things are virtually non-existent, or have been undermined to such a degree that when a tragedy occurs, usually human caused, many people do not bat an eye anymore, as if it is expected and no big deal?

Over the years, I have noticed that in places where the cycle of disaster and violence has been introduced, reporting on deaths and misery are met by many people and "news" consumers with a sort of expectation and lack of concern, whereas in places that were that cycle of disaster and violence has yet to take hold and is just beginning to be introduced the public reaction is much stronger, the concern is greater, and the humanitarian response takes on more urgency.

It seems to me that this phenomenon only helps those who are responsible for introducing the cycle of destruction and violence, because once a place descends into that kind of despair it is largely written off and an environment is created where virtually anything goes.

It is the aspect of the human psyche that is partially responsible for allowing Hell on Earth to exist in some places on the planet, and those people who have yet to experience that kind of environment would be mindful to take note of this phenomenon, because in doing so, they may be able to stop its spread before it reaches their more stable, peaceful, and prosperous enclaves in a world that is descending into madness at an increasing rate.

Upon the psychological surface its just a "as long as it wasnt me who cares" mindset, but upon a deeper level third world hell hole slaves and peasants are looked at and thought about as being much more meaningless and expendable than people with money, because we are living and dying in a greed driven fallen world and no matter how much natural horror and fabricated misery they continuously endure, ever more and more babies are being born into those doomed and damned lands, because most children there are the result of rape, where and when the dominated women are used and abused and have no defense against the evil thats unleashed upon them by thoughtless and compassionless and uneducated vile and venomous men..

We have to take into account that media is partly to blame for this. Many people rely only on msm for their news consumption.

If and whenever another 10,000 people are slaughtered by another earthquake, or by whatever, within a third world hell hole that human horror is shrugged off so casually by most people, but when and if only 10 people are killed by a flood, or by whatever, within the United States a media frenzy of focused empathy and compassion is unleashed, for we smile in denial, as people in China talk about the asteroid that will hopefully strike "way over there" in America, as the people in America talk about the asteroid that will hopefully strike "way over there" in China, but in realty, we all sink or we all float for we're all in the same big boat...

Well said. We are all inexorably linked by virtue of being human.

I would think, psychologically, it may be desensitization. Been there, done that. It's not a good place to be.

Quote:In psychology, desensitization is defined as the diminished emotional responsiveness to a negative or aversive stimulus after repeated exposure to it.

People in China and Russia and even Germany and France and Poland and elsewhere are so much more physically harder and mentally stronger, for having endured so much war and horror and witch hunts and starvation and genocide and misery for so damn long, its in their blood, its in their national psyche, its in their dna, unlike the still relatively very young United States, mostly inhabited by spoiled rotten greedy whimps in denial, who dont really know what it means to be constantly forced to try living through a thirsty and hungry and too cold and too hot and terribly poor life and so Americans blows off and undermines and deflates the importance of the too hard to look in the eyes suffering and death of other people, while persistently over inflating the false eminence of their own struggles that really cant compare to most of the rest of the worlds battered and trampled and beaten down and torn asunder humanity hurled into this fallen world so doomed and damned...

If DNA memory is a real thing, then I should be so desensitized that I should not have one sympathetic bone in my body...but I do.

I'm a firm believer in genetic memory, though it can impell, in most cases it doesn't compel.

want the real answer ?

then here it is

it's called Survival

and THAT , is all that really matters to most individuals .

THEIR Survival , NOT anyone else .

comfort food , and their blissful , and care not a twit .

Bomb goes off in Belfast back in 1970

Bus falls 2000 feet down a Ravine in Pakistan killing 160

The U.S. totally obliterates the Infrastructure of Iraq , killing 1 million people while at it

Now think , who THINKS about any of those events right now ?

NO ONE

why ?

cause it ain't biting them

they love sensational news

and only feel the pain of people suffering when it is people who look just like
them

That's why the U.S. dropped the Atom bomb on Japan , but not Germany

the Generals felt the American People wouldn't care about yellow people
being the victims ,,,, but White Europeans ?

oh ğck no , They'd care about them

but yellow people

ğck yeah ,,, BOMB THE Little Sneaky creepy Bastards .

and You ?

do you care ?

Because deep down inside within the enchanting glow of its inner light your ancient soul knows better...

After after having accumulated the vital empathy and compassion gained through many lifetimes lived...

Upon its secret cosmic journey towards attaining the spiritual perfection of eternally magical nirvana...
