What could this dream mean?

A few nights ago I had a dream that has still been playing on my mind. My recollection of it begins during the dream: My biological mother called me to tell me my grandmother (adoptive mother) has passed away. In the dream I was successful in life and had got the call. I was bothered by it but didn't know why. Later in the dream, I go out on a deck, look at the sky and a meteor hit my arm as if someone tossed it and fell to the ground in pieces. Then my husband woke me up.

In real life. My grandmother passed away in real life. I was actually in a bad time in my life and unable to be there when she passed. So needless to say I got emotional from the dream. Still today don't feel much closure with either her death or the death of my biological father. Perhaps it was nothing, but the only other dreams of her were me and her talking. Therefore I know it was a communication dream in those dreams. She was at her prime in those dreams in this dream she was old, at the age in which she passed. To further inform, I had not been thinking of her as I have had a ton on my mind the last few weeks.

So, then you have already determined what the dreams means...communication. How will you answer her?

When we sleep I think we are dreaming of past lives and future lives and other lives we are living within alternate realities right now and when we sleep our souls may actually be compelled to astral voyage to other worlds within other dimensions beyond this temporary existence...

Like one of those many possibilities that could be happening all the time is that what you did today and what your doing right now another you within some other dimension is sleeping and dreaming about it...

How interesting, I have that notion too sometimes.
To update:
I called my biological mom after I posted. Turns out she fall because a low blood sugar and had a concussion and 8 stitches. I now assume her calling me via dream was a distress call. As I'd not called lately.

To clarify, no. I had communication dreams in the past. This was not one of them.

Interesting. I think the dream had definitely something to do with that.

Sleep + Dreaming = Astral Journey = The Interdimensional Voyage Of Our Souls

Well...the meteor is the most important thing in your "dream". It's an attack, punishment, etc (whatever you want to call it) so your subconscious is telling you that you shouldn't pursue it. If I had to interpret it I'd say that there is a detail about your past that doesn't add up to you (inside your head). To avoid the confluence of effects by knowing the truth (which you already know but are hiding from yourself) you should let it go or the proverbial "sky will fall".

I don't hide from the truth but it can be crippling to some people (depends on the extent to which you depend on the lie).

Fascinating take on that, and I tend to agree 100%. Some of my alternative realities are quite interesting, while others are messed up and somewhat horrifying.
