How will you react when there's no food on the store shelves? How have you prepared for it?
Will you be helpless when communications, grocery stores, banks, electricity, plumbing, travel all shut down?

Our local daily newspapers front page headline on monday said...

"Where Has The Middle Class Gone? 53% number of people who called themselves middle class in 2008 44% number of people who called themselves middle class in January 2014"...

As a society of slaves and masters is set into nefarious motion insidiously blossoming all around us...

But thats nothing new because sooner or later every country has ended up that way before they imploded and self destructed as the enemy within is like the pebble in the shoe and all revolutions happen from within...

Then as they are severely weakened from within they are usually invaded and crushed from without...

At that point we simply fall off the grid. We can feed ourselves off the land if need be. Not everybody has that luxury.
It's a good time to live in an isolated place with great hunting, fishing and an abundance of edible greens.

I could feed my family for a few months food wise, would still need a water supply though.

You never know what would happen in a city however, but with kids who are young, I'd be at mercy to many things.

Would be much easier to survive if I was alone.

I turned myself to consider wisdom and madness and folly
The wise man’s eyes are in his head,
But the fool walks in darkness.
Yet I myself perceived
That the same event happens to them all.

The vast majority of water around here is quite drinkable, and we know where several springs are located.
Being in a city is a dangerous proposition when TSHTF BP, throw in small kids in the mix and yeah...
I see why you could survive easier by your lonesome, for most that's not an option.

We hope to move out of the city in close to two years. Far enough outside of the city to avoid initial chaos, and the option to relocate further in if need be.

For now we are right here.

And my neighborhood is bad, fairly ghetto, but we are in a gated community right by the freeway, sort of poor mans luxury rentals. We'd be invaded if it got bad here by all sorts of fellas.

But I refuse to live in fear, TPTB will likely take me at some point if they every start gathering people up before a shït storm.

But in theory I could survive awhile being an army veteran, but without my family, I do not see much point in that.

yup.gif Better to fall with Family than to survive alone IMO. I don't have military experience per se, but years of hunting, fishing coupled with knowledge of edible plants should allow us to survive.
It's easy to vanish in an unpopulated region here. A few days of walking and we're in an area where it would be quite difficult to locate our whereabouts.

I'm sure you'd do what you had to, to survive, one thing psychological about the military background is some lack of emotion almost business like attitude with conflict, but that's not really cool either to have in your head.

No matter what happens, people need to try and keep their humanity.
