What's the point of an afterlife?

just watched this documentary (or whatever it was) about near death experiences.

i don't see a reason for an afterlife. what's the point of hanging around with this being of light and love?

our imagination of afterlife seems to be just as pointless as life itself.

The promise of a "better life" or "reward" in a next life has kept pitchforks out of the rib cages of the people in charge for millennia.

There's plenty of room for all God's creatures. Right next to the mashed potatoes!

Our present lives are the future of our previous lives.

The way our lives are is how we invested in the previous ones.

God waits for us to discover the proper way, the good way, He is the most patient and gives us the chance to get it right not in just one life. Everybody can do it in this life or the next, we are re-born into a next life according to our conducts.

My signature tells it all.

“Our lives are not our own. From womb to tomb, we are bound to others, past and present, and by each crime and every kindness, we birth our future.” ― David Mitchell

If there is an afterlife it would be awesome to roam around the universe in spirit form. hyper.gif

When hubby and I discuss death and if I should die first, he asks that I come visit him in spirit form... I reply that I'll be too busy roaming around the universe...if I have time, sorry. chuckle.gif

There is something profoundly illogical with that thought,
but I can't quite put into words just what.

Don't we all, deep inside...

'fraid "being right" has lost its lure and luster,
for me personally, though

*sigh*
