chuckle.gif I can see that yeah. But I see it differently, these ladies struggle and if $1 out of my pocket makes their lives easier than it's the best $1 I ever spent cheers.gif

50/50 know what I mean? 50/50 thats honest and fair and everyones a winner! or everyones a loser!

Last year I bought 1 $10 scratch ticket and won $1,000...

And the odds of doing that is like around 15,000 to 1...

Then it's not a gift. If you give a chance to win money but expect half back if it's a winner, that's not a gift at all. You're obligating the recipient to you, so yeah, best you just not give tickets because, as you said, it's a disappointment to you when who you give to doesn't understand it isn't a gift unless they lose.

Only $200 and that was 30+ years ago.

I only buy lotto tickets because my hubby nags me to buy them. He also says "If you don't buy them, you won't win". I say, "I buy them, and I don't win". gaah.gif

At the extreme opposite end of the scratch ticket spectrum,a few years ago a guy around here in massachusetts walks into a store and buys just 1 $20 scratch ticket and he won $10,000,000 f###en dollars! imagine just one scratch ticket paying out that huge amount of cash! they are out there! several of them! all the time! and in the past winners had to wait 20 years to collect all their really big winnings in separated payments from the massachusetts state lottery, but now you can accept a lump sum payment up front and so that guy walked away with a cool clean $6,500,000 like f###en wow!

For anyone who may have missed or not seen and read this previous post...

I mean seriously...

How many ways is there for me to get (relatively) wealthy?

Workings never gonna do it thats for damn sure...

I dont plan on robbing any banks and getting caught and rotting in jail...

Theres inheritance money but I could die or become an old man before that ever happens...

Which leaves the casino and the state lottery...

So how can I not buy any and try to win something?

Theres single scratch tickets out there around here worth $10,000,000!

Wow damn what the F@#$%$#@K!

That's exactly what my hubby says during his nagging sessions, getting me to buy tickets. I agree, but the odds are really not in our favour. I think a decent win of a couple of grand should be if you get 4 numbers. 13.gif

I am not your carpet ride I am the sky
I am not your blowing wind, I am the lightning
