Microplastics found in human poop

Quote:THE INEVITABLE HAS happened. Microplastics have already been found in birds and fish and whales, so it should have come as no surprise that they have now been discovered in humans. To be specific but indelicate, tiny plastic particles and fibers have been found in the stool of eight people who provided samples as part of a pilot study.

There were reports that citrus drinks in plastic produced a chemical of some kind or another. Could that be the culprit?

Also, there was a school where the students were provided with as much Sunny D as they wanted. Dr. Joseph Mercola reported on it. By the end of the year, almost all the students were diagnosed with ADD. IIRC, the school was an advance placement school. Not sure about that part, however.

Maybe the manufacturer should change the name from Sunny Delite to Sunny DeFright?

The the last few years I've faintly smelled plastic a few times after going to the bathroom and wondered WTF was that? Thought it would have been tinfoil, but nooooo it was plastic!

It's not at high levels in the water here, but would like to know the main sources 13.gif

Quote:Researchers found very few plastic particles in Finnish tap water after a US study found plastic fibres in tap water samples in over a dozen nations.

"However according to this study and other existing data, we can say that exposure to microplastic from tap water is minimal compared to other exposure sources in Finland,”

It's peculiar how the article never mentions the actual level of plastics in Finnish water, saying only that the level is low and "a few." One would presume that the levels everywhere are low and that there are only a few particles. There is no way to tell from the article how Finland compares to the other tested countries other than to say that the US was the worst. Of course it is. We are #1 in everything - either best or worst.

I found a Tinker Toy in my poop. I can't use it since my mom threw the entire set away in 1967.
