Why Do I Never See Nuns Walking Around Anymore?

I think its a fascinating and obvious question no one ever asks...

For some reason this just dawned on me the other day...

When I realized that for many years now I've never seen any nuns walking around anymore...

When I was younger they did and I saw them all the time all over the place...

Up town, down town,on the sidewalks,at the stores and restaurants and in the malls...

But now it certainly seems like they've vanished from public view?!

Whats up with that? whats going on? where are they?

Maybe they're out there walking around just as much as they use to be?

Maybe now for some reasons they're not required to wear their nuns clothing "habits" anymore?

The medieval clothing (and horned hat) of the nun on the far right I find rather disturbing and very frightening and even nightmare inducing >

Because all of the heathens out there would pelt them with tomatoes and feces and probably rape them for shits and giggles and when done....

Cut off their head and yell, "Allah Akbar"!

I'm not catholic and so I was never forced to attend a catholic school, but if I was and did those emotionally deranged sexually repressed nuns running around hitting children and yelling at everyone while being inflicted with telepathically induced stigmata caused by confusing religious ecstasy with orgasms would have seriously freaked me out and emotionally scarred me far worse than any maniacally laughing nightmarishly painted clown...

Anyone ever see this classic and very bizarre movie that was banned all over the world for many years?

The Devils - 1971 - directed by Ken Russell and starring Oliver Reed and Vanessa Redgrave >

I'm so curious about these outlandish and strange hats (cornettes) that certain nuns like these use to wear...

But I could find very little information about them...

They appear very bizarre and ghostly to my eyes and mind and they actually frighten me in really weird almost unexplainable ways >

A cornette is a piece of female headwear that was especially popular in Europe in the 15th to 17th century. It is essentially a type of wimple consisting of a large starched piece of white cloth that is folded upwards in such a way as to create the resemblance of horns (French: cornes) on the wearer's head.

I wonder why they would want the hats to look like horns damned.gif

Exactly! they really do strangely conjure images of horned devils and demons and maybe you or someone else could help me find out more about those particular hats and who wore them and when and exactly why they were shaped so weirdly...

The Flying Nun starring a very young Sally Field was weird beyond bizarre and certainly the strangest popular television show ever made that i use to watch reruns of after school and on the weekends when I was younger and seeing this now is really like stepping into some kind of time machine...

Despite her innocent always smiling happy face, her casually accepted as being normal supernatural flying and levitating abilities, along with their medieval clothing and winged horned hats,I found and still find rather disturbing and frightening and even nightmare inducing...

Watch this and see what I mean... I mean like what the f##k!? >
