I'm reading this article, some idiot is trying to tell people why it's such a bad idea to not keep your money in a bank link if you want to read it.

And I find this comment

Quote:I decide to teach my daughter that saving money is important so we went and opened her a savings account at chase bank with $250.00

Well after 11 months her savings account had only $178.00 in it after all of the monthly fees, no activity penalties and other stupid charges..

lmao.gif lmao.gif lmao.gif poor kid sure did learn a lesson about saving cheers.gif

I just hope I can remember where all my Maple Leafs and Eagles, (Silver, not gold), are stashed.
Only my wife and daughter have been told, and that was a generic "in the shed", or 'in the garage", or "under this corner of the fencepost", etc.
They do know me well enough to look in every possible container or nook, so they will get the stuff.
I say this because today I made a list of what to get at the grocery store, went out, put gas in the Jeep, and forgot to go to the store.

I'm in my seventh decade on Earth. I know things.

chuckle.gif patpat.gif I've gone to the store and driven right past it rofl.gif

Seems a level of desperation such articles are coming out. Almost like banks are gearing up for bail-ins or bank runs.

I strive to be as useless to banks as humanly possible, I refuse to deal with institutions where the cards are stacked against you.
If I can't buy it with cash, I don't need it.

+1!

I'm just about the last still standing citizen downtown,
who doesn't own a chipped card of any kind.
Bank ladies all laugh (in a friendly way! nice ladies!) at
me, when I come in to get cash out of the account.
Nothing that costs anything ever happens.

Poor bank can't squeeze 1 extra cent outta me :)
(As if I had it...)

So far.
Got this feeling all that is gonna change soon 13.gif

Cash at home keeps the gaping bloody jaws of the governments rabid tax machine away from it and other than losing it all in a fire (just buy a fire proof safe and bury it into the concrete floor of your cellar) or home invasion (buy a gun) i dont see anything wrong with it and some people still think when they put their cash into a bank that their cash is just sitting there waiting for them and nothing could be further from the truth because its instantly transformed into digital nothingness...

And the amount always magically decreases when transferred from paper to zeros and ones.

If you pay them instantly, yes.
But if you leave everything to the monthly sweep
- rent + bills, which in my case happens every 2nd
weekday of the month - they don't charge you anything.

Of course you run the risk of being a wee bit late sometimes,
but so far so good.
so good
