Infrastructure
USA spread its self thin with sending armies across the world
Forgot to repair the nations Infrastructure
The term typically refers to the technical structures that support a society, such as roads, bridges, water supply, sewers, electrical grids, telecommunications, and so forth, and can be defined as "the physical components of interrelated systems providing commodities and services essential to enable, sustain, or enhance societal living conditions.

That 6% unemployment would drop to 0% almost if you put those types to work repairing bridges , roads, water pipes ect.....

America's greatest generation built the world's greatest infrastructure network, and now it is falling ... The U.S. has fallen to 22nd for quality of port infrastructure

I agree, the state of roads, bridges and transportation in general is in disarray. What you are saying is not far fetched at all. The WPA back in the depression basically did the same thing, what comes around goes around.

Smoke screen.

Obama was given $800 billion to repair the infrastructure for so called "shovel ready jobs." Only about $20 or $30 billion went to fix the infrastructure.

Once the $800 billion was added to the budget, the baseline budgeting was increased by the $800 billion each succeeding year. IOW, it is no longer $800 billion - it's $4 TRILLION. But the roads are still needing repair!

Repairing the infrastructure is one of those two word memes that sounds great. Everybody supports better roads and bridges, but it has been corrupted by Obama to reward his friends such as "Solyndra" and many others, including the FOREIGN car company that was supposed to make $100,000 cars!

The problem isn't the roads, it's the WH that is the problem.

Pray for me. hug.gif

Prior to moving here, I worked in roadway design for a number of years. When I look through Monster.com there are so few positions available as compared to the 90's, that I consider it a direct reflection of the fact there is little in the way real money going toward infrastructure improvements.
In the 90's and up until I left I could have gone anywhere in the country and got a job, lol
