I like Team Europe, fun style to watch.
those were great hockey games last night!
Product approved, great job, NHL and IIHF!
Enormous spirit in the Russia vs North America battle,
murderous tempo, fantastic saves, beautiful goals and
desperate scrambles. Big, clean hits too.
...all the other teams look way stronger than ours.
Can't wait to see
how we'll fare against Swedistan
- gametime at 10 local clock tonight,
if my info is correct.
Face off in 6 hours.
Beloved arch hockey enemy. :)
I hate to say it, but:
This version of Team Suomi-Finland ğkking sucks.
Mikko Koivu looks heavy on his feet, stiff and
uninterested. Patrik Laine is all talk and zero action.
Mikael Granlund is actively working hard to be as invisible
as possible. Kudos to Waltteri Filppula for trying, but...
sorry - you'll always be a mid-caste, run of the 3d line
mill NHLer, nothing more. Same goes for Leo Komarov.
There is no gameplan, no structure, and the defensemen
make minor junior league mistakes every chance they get.
Not impressed at all with the much praised goalies, either.
Clearly the lowest quality play of all the games so far.
And surprised I am, that Sweden only leads 1 - 0 after
two periods. Angel watch or something....or maybe mostly
because the Swedes suck too, although not nearly as much
and eagerly as we do.
I want my money back and the useless head coach
Quote:It’s amazing how much Hockey Canada and the national team program has progressed over these past 20 years. They had the best players then. They may not have had the best way to play the game. Over the years, they have melded the players and the coaches and the systems and ever-important succumbing of egos to turn centres into wingers and stars into role players and individuals into a team.
It is impressive — even in a one-sided way.
"succumbing of egos" seems to be the magic trick.
That was an eye opener.
Finnish hockey is in a transition period,
a generational shift. I do understand.
I hope the younger players got at least
some good experience out of the whole
As a life long fan, though...
That was beneath all criticism. I just know
the guys can do so much better than that,
hard times or not. There's something wrong.
The management needs a long hard think.
Looking forward to Canada - Russia...will be
one heck of a hockey game.
