The inventor of the world wide web has marked the 25th anniversary of his creation by calling for a 'Magna Carta' bill of rights to protect its users.

Sir Tim Berners-Lee told BBC Breakfast the issue could be compared to the importance of human rights.

He has been an outspoken critic of government surveillance following a series of leaks from ex-US intelligence contractor Edward Snowden.

Sir Tim called on people to take action and protest against surveillance.

Good morning NODOOM! wave.gif coffeetime.gif A noble idea, but until Europe and South America get cables laid to bypass the control of a rogue nation that refuses to obey their own laws, this situation will persist.
The situation right now is everyone knows the NSA monitors their every move. Any real "bad guys" won't be using gmail or FB to communicate.
Snowden rendered their multibillion dollar programs ineffective and obsolete. Once the European transatlantic cable goes in, they can spend all their time spying on their own citizens.
It doesn't matter, they are gerbils running on a big expensive wheel going nowhere, and for all the billions spent to keep America "safe" lol, not a single "bad guy" has been caught.
FAIL.
The same situation will exist until Americans stop paying for their own demise. sheepaid.gif
