im 40.. so a smurf drinking glass is not really my style of gift.. and she was serious.. 13.gif

The Smurf mug is one lame Christmas present. Same with the Monopoly mugs. They shout, "I have NO Idea what to give my brother....{Panic!}

PS. What did she do with the jelly that surely came with the glass? I mean it looks like a jelly glass.

Pray for me. hug.gif

She has limited taste. To her they were kitsch. That's what she said. She doesn't really gef kitsch. Maybe my liking the tacky fridge magnet from her recent trip to Vegas made her think i would like these?

One year my father gave me a white plastic cube clock that lit up in different colors. Why I don't know.

What possessed him to give me something like that is an even greater mystery.

It was defective. So I let him know hoping he'd get me something else. My father and his new wife were thrilled to tell me the company had a wonderful replacement policy! I didn't even need to send the clock back to get a replacement!

How exciting is that!!!!!!!!!! They sent me a second white plastic cube clock.

He sends me money for Christmas now so all is well!

Passed it right on to my Rastaman friend, who threw a party for us
lonely folks on Xmas Eve (bless him).

Went really well with his enormous dreadlocks, too lol.gif

The mugs are 'fine china' so I would think they could become collectors' items as Monopoly is still a very popular game. Maybe the grumpy smurf glass reminded her of you? Did it? Are you blue (grumpy)? chuckle.gif If the opportunity arises on my travels, I will always buy unusual Disney or what I think could be collectors' items, such as a collection of 4 packs of 101 Dalmations playing cards, or just what catches my eye.

As for fridge magnets, tacky or not, I too collect very unusual fridge magnets at every weird and wonderful travel excursion I go on. Now, I have never given them as gifts because I consider them part of my collection.

You could always regift them as an alternative. cheers.gif

No photos. Sorry. I tried a Google image search but no luck.

If there was some part of my personality that screamed plastic white cube clock that changes color, then maybe it would have been okay.

But the damn clock was a wtf2.gif through and through.

It's probably time to 'accidentally' knock them off the counter onto the floor. Don't tell your sister or she might try to replace them. Seriously. There is a risk with someone who gives a gift like those to want to replace them with yet another WTF glass next Christmas. Not that they won't add to your collection anyway.

You might start giving those kinds of gifts to her. When she asks you why, Simply tell her you thought she liked drinking cups. Who knows, in 10 years she might be willing to speak to you again.
