Governor Mike Huckabee must pay $25,000 for playing the “Eye of the Tiger” at a rally last year.
[...]
the former Republican presidential candidate must pay the fine for playing the song by the band Survivor after failing to get permission first to do so, a violation of copyright infringement.

Quote:The former Governor of Arkansas had originally claimed the event was a “religious assembly” after she was let out of jail and not part of his presidential campaign and thus considered “fair use.”

However, that argument failed to hold up when the songwriter’s lawyer was able to show that Huckabee claimed the event as a campaign expense.

I hoped this was coming. He played it at the rally for Kim Davis when she was released from prison. This makes me quite happy.

Quote:He has already paid $12,500 since he settled out of court with Rude Music — the company owned by the Survivor guitarist and song co-writer, Frankie Sullivan. Huckabee cited the payment as a presidential campaign expense on federal election records obtained by CNN.

However, the 60-year-old fought against paying the rest of the fees, arguing that the rally was a "religious assembly" and warrants fair use of the music.

Just another new earth creationist screwball.

Trump and Cruz will probably both be sued for same

Trump used stones, Queen, and REM songs without permission.
Cruz also used REM.
REM told them to go ğck themselves. Queen told trump to cease and desist.
