I didn't get to watch it. It seems Fox is holding mt cable provider hostage so we don't get Fox now...

Thanks, Nine. I saw the first two. I can just go watch it on the Fox website.

I wonder if my cable bill will go down for this time without Fox. If we don't have the channel we shouldn't have to pay for it.

Do you think you will actually pay less?
rofl.gif It's American cable TV, you never pay less.

Is it a rehash of the old series (which was pretty good) or off the mark?

No. That was sarcasm. They have this shït video running on a loop telling viewers how they are looking out for us and standing up to the network to keep our bill from going up. That's why I made the comment.

It seemed like an homage to The Night Stalker to me. The guy dressed just like Carl Kolchak, down to the hat, and the episode was more like a night stalker theme than an X files theme. I loved it.

I went to find an image of Carl Kolchak, and it seems the NY Post published this in agreement with my theory.
Left is last night's X files, right is Carl Kolchak

İmage

Quote:
The homage to McGavin’s vampire- and werewolf-hunter is intentional.

“’Night Stalker’ and ‘X-Files’ have always been intertwined,” says longtime series writer Darin Morgan, who wrote and directed the episode. He says creator Chris Carter calls it a “huge influence.”

“I just thought it would be funny to have the guy dressed as Kolchak because he was basically the inspiration for Fox Mulder,” says Morgan. He adds that McGavin — who died at age 83 in 2006 — played an alien-hunting FBI predecessor to Mulder in two episodes of the original “X-Files” series.

Yeah, I said he either rolled Darrin McGavin, or Matt Drudge.

Did everyone watch it?

It seems to me that every episode has had a different director and writer. This episode was more comical-ish.

Yeah, we get 'em the day after, and it was definitely on the light/dark comedy side.

it was a real waste of time.

basically a parody of the show, themselves.. not to mention the fans..

i mean if they absolutely HAD to do that, i could maybe see it if they were

already re established... more than two shows worth..

damn. the first two were really good and then that.

wtf.

Just Plain Nuts.
