3 tablespoons paprika
2 1/2 tablespoons table salt
2 1/2 tablespoons garlic powder
1 heaping tablespoon onion powder
2 1/4 teaspoons black pepper
2 1/4 teaspoons ground mustard
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 pinch red pepper

Use about 2 1/2 teaspoons per pound of ground beef. Also works well on lamb and pork.

For red meat I use a little MSG in place of half the salt. It's not dangerous in moderation and can help you greatly reduce your sodium intake.

And it makes the burgers much better. With chicken it is divine.

I make this Chinese caramelized pork shoulder ,that most people die over.
I make a Chinese stuffed eggplant that I adore. Left over filling I make potstickers .
No,I'm not vegan . I still eat pork ,and some fish . Almost no poultry ,no shellfish .I do milk and eggs. Cruelty free only .
I make Vietnamese Pho ,and Bahn Mi sandwiches . I can go their grilled pork ,but in a hot pan. I don't have a grill now.
I make a lot of Japanese dishes.
Okonomiyaki ,various udon ,miso soups .I'm not good at ramen from scratch tho . Can't do the 24 hour soup stock .
I do tempura with veggies . Shabu Shabu . Japanese style breakfast . Nabes ,gyudon .

I've tried my hand at mochi desserts . I never knead it enough . I want to just buy a mochi maker .

I would say ,the Chinese caramelized pork is the one that gets raves and raves .

I just made a southern style spice cake ,that was pretty good. Then stuffed orange breakfast bread. Oh,that's soo good .
I also do a bread and butter pudding that clogs my arteries ,big time .
My Mac and cheese is yummy too . I top it with panko and crushed up frenchs fried onions .
I make maybe two chicken dishes .
Chicken teriyaki ,and an Italian chicken with peas and potatoes .My moms recipe.
I do lasagna ,meatballs ,, broccoli rabe ,italian wedding soup ...stuff like that ,as well .

Mmmmmmm.....,

I'm very curious about this Chinese caramelized pork dish. Do you coat the pork in a caramelized sugar and butter concoction and bake it very slowly?

Having a Kritter potluck may add many pounds, right now I have to watch my weight and I would lose it at this paticular potluck and try everything (seconds, maybe thirds), especially the desserts, and esp. chocolate desserts. chuckle.gif

Now you know never to ask a woman that . Heh . I only eat once a day now. I don't even get that hungry ,and I do the bike when my knee and hip don't hurt too much . I actually do not weigh myself . Not for years. I used to freak over a pound ,but I still wear a size five American . I wore a size three until I was about 35 . When I did martial arts every day ,I weighed a lot less, but I stopped weighing myself about 20 years ago .

Same here! I haven't weighed myself in years, I don't see the point. If you can't fit into your fave jeans your ass got too big. No wait, that's not entirely true, I weighed myself at my son's place a couple of months back. I was surprised to see I was the same as in junior high. blonde.gif

But I'm pretty active and care about what I eat. I walk or ride the bike everywhere. hi5.gif

Isn't that something, I don't weigh myself anymore either. I go if my favorite jeans fit or not. If not, time to adjust my eating habits and expend more physical energy. If they fit thumbsup.gif I can enjoy a piece of cheese cake now and again.

Try sprinkling parmesan and paprika on top, oh it's good.

Mine would be my salsa. When people eat my salsa their eyes go wide, not because it's that hot but because it's that good. I use home canned tomatoes and pickled peppers, makes all the difference cheers.gif

I've never tried to make homemade salsa but yours sounds tasty. I wonder what it would taste like using fresh tomatoes instead of canned? Or, is there a specific reason why you use canned over fresh?

Everyone seems to like my not so spicy hamburger patties, here's what I do:

One pounds of hamburger (extra lean)
A little cold water
1 whole egg
1 good shot of Dijon mustard
1 small shot of catsup
Salt and Pepper
Paprika
A little diced garlic
Add multi-grained bread crumbs to make the mixture formable

I change it up sometimes by adding sauteed onion, celery salt, or a little steak spice.

But the egg and breadcrumbs really make a little ground meat go a long way.

Morning US!

I've made with fresh and it just doesn't taste as good, sort of bland, why I don't know. I add nothing when I can tomatoes not even salt. Maybe it's just the preparation? I smoked 3 salmon a couple days ago, they're pretty good too chuckle.gif

Good morn, yeah, it's weird how one ingredient can make or break a dish.

How are the salmon populations there and are they healthy?

Last summer was bumper year, maybe it's just 'cause I know people but I was offered chinooks for $5 each, as many as I was willing to take.

Do you use fresh chopped cilantro? That is the difference between Salsa and tomato, onion and pepper sauce.

I'm sure she's going to change her winning recipe because of your opinions.

I'd post the recipe, but I haven't made it since thanksgiving and I've forgot.

I forgot quite a few of mine as well. It would take time and experimentation for me to remember how I tweaked the recipe to get it to the 'rave' state.
