The last and only American prisoner of the Afghan war was released to American forces Saturday, after nearly five years in captivity, in exchange for five Taliban prisoners held at Guantánamo Bay.

Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl was released in good condition to American Special Operations forces in Afghanistan around 10:30 a.m. by a group of 19 Taliban, The New York Times reports. The five Taliban prisoners at Guantánamo were in the process of being released to officials from Qatar, and will return there with security restrictions.

Anyone watched Homeland?

Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to poor

Uh, I think it was to revitalize that country's Papaver Somniferum economy ~ it's now thriving and the healthiest on the planet with the unsightly profits going to the "right" places.

3,000 murdered here might be the reason. The training camps were in Afghanistan. We blew a few of them up including AlQaeda members, chasing bin Laden out of Afghanistan into Pakistan where he either died from a combination of injuries and kidney disease or from an attack on his compound.

The compound was attacked a day after Obama released his fake birth certificate. He had turned down previous requests to attack the compound, but the final one was conveniently accepted. There is rumor he was told about it after it was too late to call it back.

lol.gif That's the real reason, that's why I said "official" rationale chuckle.gif
I had nearly forgot Bin Laden was supposedly hanging out there doing kidney dialysis and plotting world domination from some random cave. Somewhere.

19 Saudis with boxcutters stood down the USAF and NORAD while hijacking four planes, dropped 3 skyscrapers into their very own footprints and somehow Afghanistan is to blame.

İmage

Anyways, really glad to see the POW released unharmed.

Really ? Don't tell us you're unaware of the close relationship between the Taliban and AlQaeda that continues to this day?

It's called gravity. Things fall down, not up.

It was 15 Saudis and 4 Egyptians who all trained guess where? Oh that would be Afghanistan and probably Iraq where they were trained on a jet there to do hijacking.

The USAF and NORAD can track planes, not passengers. But you knew that. It just sounded good to toss those names out there to make it look impossible for 19 men to hijack 4 planes.

But history tells us from repeated examples that commercial jets can be hijacked by passengers despite the USAF and NORAD.

Although it's always heartwarming to get one of our soldiers back, will everyone be so heartwarmed when those 5 top terrorists kill and wound many more of our soldiers and possibly American civilians?

Pray for me. hug.gif
