I've just been reading the paper on the train, and I think what putin has said about Obama and the US is pure gold. I can't wipe the smile off my face. He has taken over as the world voice on this issue. That's gotta hurt. Are some Americans here, annoyed by what he said??

Putin has done his best to stop a war. In his own interests, of course.
But if you serve your own interests by starting wars (such as Georgia's attack on S Ossetia) then expect to be cheered when you fail.

I'm an American. Even though Putin is a killer, most Americans - myself included - are ecstatic with Putin's remarks.

Obama is such a destructive force in the world and a pompous ass to boot. So it's great to see the smirk wiped off his face.

Here is what one Russian writer had to say about Obama compared to Putin.

"The once drug addict now US leader cannot fight against Vladimir Putin who brought Russia from poverty in the 90's to a more stable economy today. Obama's buffoonery selling the war against Syria has hit a wall thanks to President Putin's firm stance and leadership."

"Focusing on war instead of a trillion dollar debt, Obama's forte is to spread chaos not only in America but in the world. Like a fire bug his wake has left North Africa burning and he now supports terrorists the US once fought against. Bush once said that when Obama got into office that Barry would have to do the same and continue fighting in the Middle East. "Mr. I'll bring home the troops next summer" has broken that promise and kept his "YES WE CAN start more wars" pledge. As they say in America, "he's Bush on steroids".

I see sheep falling for a distraction.

Putin is a world leader that has gained much respect, but I shall not let my guard down because he is saying things that I might want to hear.

Putin was a KGB agent that's like being damn near a nazi

I think people either have a short memory or they're ignorant of his past

If people respect him its because they're in fear for their life because he makes people disappear.

Easy. It's quite refreshing to hear a major league political leader tell the unvarnished truth for one fleeting moment.

It's about time someone told Obama he's an emperor with no clothes.

We [humans] have the bright side and the darker side;

At times, we can be angels or demons, depends on our attitude of consciousness;

Thank God this time Putin's self turned out to be the angel.

“Our lives are not our own. From womb to tomb, we are bound to others, past and present, and by each crime and every kindness, we birth our future.” ― David Mitchell

BS you bought that propaganda. You just hate Obama enough to applaud that commie scumbag bashing your home. Sickening.

I don't like Obama but I will never applaud that POS that would be speaking German if not for America's exceptionalism.

You might as well go take a piss at Arlington.

Putin is a strange one, no doubt, but in this situation he has shone. I thought most Americans would be as ecstatic as most people around the globe. Obamas tv appearances of late stating why they should attack Syria left me screaming at the tv. He is the same as bush, if not worse. A wolf in sheep's clothing. Washington must be in meltdown over this.

The comment by putin about America not being exceptional and that's its dangerous to encourage people to see themselves as exceptional, was spot on. Pure gold!

Honestly I don't even have an opinion on it. IMO all the worlds indeed a stage and I believe we are all played against one another on a regular basis.
For me, pitting Putin against Obama is like asking me to choose between which pile of dog shït I find most aesthetically pleasing. coffeetime.gif
