my god for 29.99 comcast would only give us basic cable package, that doesnt include the most popular channels like bbc, natgeo, food network etc -only the local channels. nor does it include internet. the more stuff you want to add on, the more you gotta pay. pay the reaper! so we are currently paying 117 for 100mbps. the price fluctuates every month due to new fees and fricking taxes. i dont trust our isp. ever since that one time they over throttled me.

we dumped our satellite and got one of those high def antennas and they pick up all the local channels plus local entertainment channels.
for instance NBC has its regular channel then it also has an entertainment channel where they play all the re runs of old shows like beverly hillbillies, westerns, sitcoms
each channel seems to have a second and even third sub channel.
we get pbs, plus three of their sub channels which has food, childrens tv, and diy.
there are alot of spanish ones, but we dont watch those.
we get the state legislative feed,
there is the nasa channel, with several subs.
there is even a couple of black channels which plays all the black sitcoms and movies.
i know im skipping alot of them...
it was only fifty bucks for the antenna.

we did miss his home improvement shows and my sci fi channel but its free and we can use internet to find new movies and whatever series he wants to watch.
i doubt we will EVER go back to paying for any channels.

oh and i insist on a landline.
it is because i refuse to use a cell.
i wont ever get one of those either.
i dont want to be on call at all times, so call my house phone and leave a message.

And yup.gif

...been living the totally phoneless life meself,
for what...two and-a-half years now.

No more strange, pea-sized bump beneath my
right ear..! It's vanished! No more strange headaches
for no apparent reason, no more 'metallic tongue and
piezo-electric radio fangs' syndrome.

Sure, I lose some business, but...have to make the most
of the internet instead. Which I surf through a thick, old
fashioned cable.

Top notch service in this building, though thumbsup.gif
I watch the NHL with flicker-free feed, sharper than
television. All there is is a hub in the wall - router/
modem/whatchumacallit in the basement.

I like, very much.
Costs me a bit, though.

I cut my cable last year, better things to do with money than support CNN.
