I figure fat people don't drink diet soda because they're fat,
they're fat because they drink diet soda.
Also linked as a possible cause of diabetes.

My ex brother in law would sit down and eat a whole chocolate pie and follow it with a diet coke.
Like he was doing himself a favor or some such.
At any rate, he weighed in close to 300 lbs and was one of the most unhealthy people I ever met.

A new study suggests older women who drink diet soda regularly may be on a fast-track to heart disease.

The study, presented at the American College of Cardiology's annual session, looked at nearly 60,000 women ages 50-79 who did not present with a history of heart disease at the start of the study.

Women who said they never or rarely drank diet sodas were compared to women who said they normally consume two or more diet drinks per day.

After nine years, the study found that older women who regularly drank diet beverages were 30-percent more likely to suffer cardiovascular problems and 50-percent more likely to die from heart-related disease.

diet my ass.. toxic death drinks is what they should be called.. 13.gif

coke is healthier than diet coke.. not that i drink any soft drinks (thats what we call fizzy type drinks) they were always banned in our house as my mother said they were crap.. not even at a special occasion.. now you go to her house and her fridge is full of those drinks and she gives to the grandkids.. bizarre..

Theres a guy i work with who tells me hes drank at least one 2 liter of pepsi soda every day for over twenty years and i have not consumed even one single 12 ounce can of any soda during that same long time period because that sweet legal poison takes the rust off of metal and so what the f##k is it doing to human flesh and blood and bones?!

Yeah it's totally crap. JR bought me a can of coke, real coke made with real sugar, when I had a stomach bug a few months back and it did help. 13.gif Only very rarely bought fizzy drinks for my kids. When my son turned 18 he started buying lots of coke because he could, but he got tired of it real quick chuckle.gif

My older brother is addicted to this stuff. If you see him, there's a Diet Coke in his hand. He drinks between 12 and 24 a day. In the past seven years I've watched his health decline from a Healthy Lumberjack type man, to a obese man with Diabetes and multiple heart and other health problems.

There's no debating the Diet Cokes with him, his comeback to me is always the same. "Well you Smoke"
