Well, lucky for you there are benefits to looking at virtual trees as well.

Quote:Researcher Bin Jiang and his colleagues found that viewing 3-D videos of residential streets with varying amounts of tree canopy significantly improved participants' physiological and psychological recovery from a stressful experience.

"For males, exposure to a six-minute video with moderate tree cover density evoked about three times the stress reduction as watching a video with no trees," said Jiang, a postdoctoral fellow and lecturer at Illinois who conducted the research at the university for his doctoral dissertation in landscape architecture.

our brain makes no huge difference between virtual reality and real life.
in fact it is so flexible that it is able to adapt to new realities pretty quickly. i've read studies that say that emoticons like :) or :/ or :( or -.- etc... are perceived like real faces of existing persons... and it doesn't even shock me or something because the fundamental way our brains process things is based on simple shapes like lines and circles and rectangles and different colors.^^
amazing isn't it?

Yes our brains are truly amazing. If we weren't this adaptable we would probably not have made it this long on this planet.

I think that he would find fault with your lifestyle choices too, but perhaps not laugh at you for choosing them.

Most likely the only reason that we were able to rise up and evolve and diversify and spread around the earth in ever growing larger numbers is because of the glacial retreat of the last ice age and when those moving and crushing and all consuming miles high mountains of ice and snow are inevitably unleashed once again we will be hammered and slammed back down to a much smaller population occupying much less available land areas that will never be able to contain and sustain eight billion people and no one really knows when and how slow or quickly they will return...

For some reason they only seem to show ice and snow growing and expanding down from the north pole...

When most likely there were simultaneous major glaciations of more or less equal magnitudes spreading up from the south pole as well...

Although theres really no up and down and theres really no top and bottom and theres really no north south east and west upon planet earth and within the void of outer space...

I'm throwing it out there but without socio-paths and competitiveness we might all be living in the dark ages. Having said that it would probably be a less stress free world. I'm talking to you Currys!

I can see by your coat my friend you're from the other side. Just one thing I got to know. Who won?

hmm.gif Benjamin LIbet's experiments kinda support that idea.

Yeah...very nicely described in Tor Nörretranders' book
'The User Illusion' (was it?).

Nörretranders' revolutionary work still springs to mind
almost daily. I've enjoyed all of his texts, so far, very much.

In a Reprise of the Ancient Tribal Wars ,,

which gave power to the ignorant grunts that best could slaughter masses
of people , and Wrest control of the Meek to become Kings ,,,

The Alien Time Travelers have come back from the future
to use their advanced Technology to intimidate world leaders into allowing them
To have power over the entire world ,,,

if the world leaders agreed to it ,,, they would become rich and retire to becoming
nothing more than Talking heads with empty promises for
the enslaved Humans of Earth .

Now you know why it is what it is .

Shall we Open the Bottle and guzzle a Toast to our New Masters ?
