The guys in Montana or in the ocean are not going to be affected. If the US was attacked by Iran one of them would get a call.

Why?

Because Iran test fired some of their Shahab-3 missiles from freighters. The missiles were detonated at a high altitude - just like what would be done to generate an EMP attack.

More than likely Iran is doing the military move in an attempt to lull the US to sleep. Down the road, they will start sending out the freighters. When they observe that the US is no longer tailing them, the next set of freighters will be armed with the missiles.

All internet will be taken down as well as electricity for refrigerators and everything else including gas pumps and ATM machines. Cars and trucks that are on the road will have their electronics fried, creating accidents and traffic jams all over the country.

Jet planes will fall from the sky starting thousands of fires. Trucks won't be able to reach them due to the traffic jams.

If you're on an elevator when it happens, that's where you'll spend your final days urinating, etc.

Doom? What doom? damned.gif

Well, gee I wouldn't write the US off quite yet - and it is possible to get out of an elevator.

It is unlikely that the Iranian missiles could go much further than coastal cities. 1200 mile effective range could hit a range of targets. But it is the Iranian version of the "NoDong" missile. It is hard to worry (and quit laughing) when someone fires a "no dong" at you.

The EMP requires the upper atmosphere be in an "uninitialized state" and the US has done experiments on preconditioning the Ionosphere.. I expect the result will be less than intended.

If a person were able to get out of an elevator - and most won't be able to because the repairman will have no way to get to all the elevators because his vehicle won't work. He will also be more worried about saving his own ass than the thousands of folks who are trapped.

But let's say you get out. Then what? There's no effing electricity!

But there will be fires because when there is no electricity there are always boneheads who accidentally start fires - fires that can't be addressed by firetrucks because the trucks won't be able to get there.

The freighters would be maybe 15 miles off the coast, so their missiles will be able to reach plenty close enough to where they need to be detonated. They can also show up off both coasts.

Preconditioning the entire ionosphere over the US? Riiiiiiiiiiiiight!

Where did Iran get those missiles?

Meaning who did they buy them from?

China or Russia most likely?

F##k Iran, those are the countries we should be worrying about...

Invading aliens would probably be able to simultaneously blast the entire earth with ultra advanced EMP waves and hurl the entire human race back into the late 1800s within a few minutes...

They pretty much build them themselves. Maybe they get parts from various countries, such as N. Korea and Russia. Not sure.

Iran has a lot of engineering prowess.
