We make our own creme cheese. Yogurt in a coffee filter in a strainer over a pan overnight (out of the fridge!)
All the whey runs in the pan and you're left with creme cheese.
Add some salt and chives and there you go.

yogurt turns into cream cheese..?

We use plain natural yogurt. Just pour it into a strainer lined with coffee filters and let it sit overnight. I remember my mom doing this when I was a kid.

We don't use coffee filters either, but they're good to have around for a number of things.

Has anyone here ever tried to eat low fat cheese that's 50% or 75% reduced fat?
That stuff is just nasty. Reminds me of eating wet cardboard. Cheese is one of my favorite foods but nowadays it's important to know where it's made as to avoid unhealthy poor quality. France has the most delicious cheeses and yogurts, IMHO. Most of the cheese in the US is made from hormone injected cows. Remember food is dangerous to your health, sadly.......................... Blue cheese, brie, Swiss, sharp cheddar, provolone and the list goes on.
