this is the Avon river in Christchurch New Zealand-- I had to use a bit of artists licence to tidy up the river and banks because of damage caused by the Earthquakes and THEN dreadful floods a couple of months ago

" MY RIVER AVON "

for the city rebuild large tracts of land , expecially along the banks of the river have now been "Red Zoned " meaning land unfit for building , so it is now being made into park land with cycle and walk ways

dont know about the city though , because with the new Earthquake building requirements , and crippling new insurance cover , owners and developers find the building costs are so high, the rents they have to charge, there is very very few firms willing or ABLE to pay the rents the owners will want
