Not an easy thing to capture personality Ocker cheers.gif

I assume it's a sculpture in the background, but at first glance I thought it was a stack of tp rolls scream.gif

It was quite a challenge , I got her sitting with just the ginger cat at first

then back in me studio I had to work the other three cats in to the scene somehow , Plus, its wintertime here, so all the plantings and flowers are out of me head -- Then I put the Sculpture in to set the whole thing off

Very nice work Ock.

She works with stone, and the stone foundations of her house are perhaps crumbling due to the last earthquake. sad2.gif

Quote:Ms Killoran, who moved from Liverpool to New Zealand with her husband five years ago, now does not know whether her house sits on solid foundations.

But her situation, and house in one of Christchurch's white zones, which had slumped back into the hill during the earthquake, seemed far from her mind as she spoke of the natural light, shapes and patterns she wanted reflected in her work of entwined birds, titled Nurture.

"The main thing for me is to get the light through the stone and to do the stone justice," she said.

I've read and heard that the human visage is the most difficult thing to draw and paint, i mean like think about it, theres only so much to the physical appearance of a persons face and theres 7,000,000,000 people with 7,000,000,000 different faces with 7,000,000,000 extremely slight variations...

and changes with every mood , every painting is a completely different challenge

Just curious to ask, about how many paintings would you guestimate you've completed so far? Through the years i have finished and saved (within clear top loading acid free plastic binder pages) around 150 to 200 drawings using regular pencils and colored pencils and colored ink pens rendered with various combinations of them and a few of those are of extreme detail and took me several months to complete, while drawing for a few hours each evening, while listening to awesome music on my head phones (*-*)

its slowed down considerably since the Earthquakes , ( people in CH CH just not interest in anything anymore it seems ) in the 12 month period before the Quakes I did 47 commissions , --- in the nearly Five years since only done 28 and only THREE of those to local people , the rest to other parts of NZ and to overseas clients
