Yup, my dad got a flu shot as well as my Grandma one year and they were sick as dogs for the longest of time. That was the last of their flu shot deal though, thankfully.

Quote:

In recent years studies by a variety of research groups — including in Canada — have shown that the long-quoted claims that flu shots offered 70 to 90 per cent protection against influenza have been off the mark.

Somewhere in the order of 50 to 60 per cent, in healthy adults, is more accurate, the newer studies suggest. Efficacy rates are lower in the elderly or people in poor health.

Certainly alot of research needs to be done yet.

then we do not need them after

if you are elderly , and the shot may kill you or the flu kill you

i take my chance on the flu

i do not take meds of any kind

because i know they weaken my immune system

it stays strong naturally

I too don't take the flu shot because my immune system is still robust. My parents always took the pneumonia vaccine in and just before my dad passed away, he got pneumonia.

I've always felt getting the flu is much better than having mercury based preservatives injected in my body.

I was in Safeway yesterday, the store radio was telling me how easy and important it is to get the free flu vaccine, better hurry!!! I'd boycott them if the only other option wasn't chinamart.

This was in the news here just a few days ago:

Reluctance to take flu jab causes concern

The National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) is concerned over the reluctance of many to take precautionary flu jabs this winter. Worries amongst the public stem from the few cases of narcolepsy contracted from the swine flu jab.

Well duh! What did they expect. 15.gif
