The Obama administration’s Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) prohibited veterans from hearing Christmas carols or receiving gifts wrapped in Christmas-themed wrapping paper, prompting outrage from a congressional committee.

VA officials in Iowa City, Iowa told representatives of the American Legion that they could not hand out gifts to veterans wrapped in wrapping paper that featured the term “Merry Christmas.”

Additionally, the VA Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia — which treats veterans — banned Christmas carolers from singing Christmas songs with religious references in public areas.

They have been trying and failed to kill Christianity for like 2000 years now. This is nothing new.

Communists have to kill religion because if people have hope and faith in something higher than this life they can't be controlled.

There's something worrying about this trend. The, "what is politically correct" trend. Here in The UK things have gone to Happy Holidays instead of Happy Christmas.

I have lived outside of the UK on a number of occasions and have always believed it correct to follow the laws and respect the customs of ones host country..

In that token why are so many of our governments ousting our own customs and cultures as a so called respect to others.

Even for someone to wear a crucifix in School is not allowed. Now I'm not religious or anything but hang on they are OUR guest and should act like it.

I will probably get some stick for these views but at least you know my feelings on this.

YES

Life is like a penny, you can spend it on what you like, but you can ONLY spend it once.

Yeah I dont get the whole dont say merry christmas thing since its a religious holiday in the first place

I dont celebrate hanukkah cuz I aint jewish so I dont get why people celebrate christmas if they're christian. Also if someone tells me happy hanukkah I wouldn't be offended.

They cant come out and say were going to ban christmas cuz people would freak out so they take a lil at a time but I kinda have feeling that people are getting tired of the PC police crying about every lil thing that MIGHT offend someone.

Its like people aren't offended until they're told to be offended cuz face it a lot of people are sheep that will do whatever they're told.

This PC BS is out of control. It actually breeds more intolerance than it prevents.
By changing language to be more sensitive to those who are already discriminated against, it draws attention to their differences, it becomes "us" and "them" and that's marginalization, what you were trying to avoid in the first place.
