This EU - this Other England. Not at all.

I live in the EU (as do most of you) but in Belgium.

In Belgium as in most EU nation states - politicians are so scared of their electorates whom they hold in cold contempt once elected - that it is a Criminal Offence to criticise or insult ANY official.

Yes, YOU can go to prison for suggesting a politician is corrupt - but you cannot be sued for lying by saying he is not.

This IS Europe and most UK people have NO idea of how Freedom is so incredibly restricted.

Let's say you wanted to move to the house in the next town/village whatever.

First you must contact the Police in the place you live and tell them you are leaving and why.

Then you must inform the Police in the new place. This should be done before moving but they will accept a 7 day grace.

When properly notified and impressions of Identity Card entered, together with details of any person living in your new house you will be told that you will be "Randomly Visited" by the Police.

The police will send two officers to your door to assure themselves that you told the truth and that this is where you live.

If after 6 visits no one comes to the door - they will leave a note and you must present yourself at the Police Station again.

If for any reason you and the Police cannot meet at the door of your home (you can't make an appointment it must be "Random Time") then when you try to renew your passport - well you cannot - because you have no "proof of
residence".
Or if you need a new driving licence or a replacement ID Card. (Passports here are only issued for 5 years and may not be extended.)

If you don’t have photographic evidence - passport or ID card with you when it is demanded by a Policeman for ANY reason - you can be detained for 48 hours.

I could go on and on with examples which affect the most law abiding citizens.

In Europe the authorities are told to treat you like a criminal and then you have to prove otherwise. Remember the McCann family in Portugal and their treatment by the inept Portuguese Police? Remember when that American girl complained that the Italian Police beat her and slapped her around - she faced a prison sentence for "insulting the Police". Easy to prove - she was the only one in the "interrogation room with 5 policemen.

The way of life in the UK is so very different - fight hard to keep it that way.

UKIP -
Get organised and fight Cameron and Milliband -

Get the UK out of the EU.

What politics from both sides wants to teach us is that things are never complex. If you have your little package and something doesn't fit into that package, You don't know what to make of it so you want to dismiss it or then you will have to do the work of reconsidering your assumptions. - Michael Malice

That's only because we are free to do other things.

Sex and beer are about the only things you don't need permission for.
