sure took a hell of a long time to update...almost 3 hours. apart from reset the settings that were err reset by update, i noticed there was no way for me to disable cortana. so i searched around and found a program on "how to geek" called "disable cortana registry hack" after got that installed, restarted pc and viola!cortana was disabled. -take that deathstar! > microsoft.

I still haven't updated my laptop, I don't plan to. It's about to expire anyway, when I turn it on the screen is really pink

It's björking some peoples installs: http://www.windowscentral.com/windows10-...ms-how-fix

There are very credible reports that the Anniversary Update is making entire volumes/drives invisible, prompting a reformat. The newest version of Win10 refuses to see some drives, identifying them as RAW, and prompting for an NTFS reformat. It’s easy to accidentally reformat the drive.

Not cool if you run dual boot like me. My Linux install could get easily get trashed. I personally wouldn't use Windows 10 for anything.
I have it but it's strictly to run programs Wine wont, I'm not browsing with that thing.

I turned Win Update off.

I'll pick and choose what I install.

What politics from both sides wants to teach us is that things are never complex. If you have your little package and something doesn't fit into that package, You don't know what to make of it so you want to dismiss it or then you will have to do the work of reconsidering your assumptions. - Michael Malice

That's good news, this seems to be affecting a minority of installs. What's strange is I have a new laptop and just built a new gaming PC and they haven't pushed the Anniversary update to my newer hardware. dunno.gif
