Brooklyn eatery offering $100 gold-topped doughnut

NEW YORK, Jan. 7 (UPI) -- New York foodies who find themselves with spare spending cash are being offered a particularly pricey pastry: a $100 doughnut covered in 24-karat gold flakes.

The Manila Social Club, a Brooklyn eatery owned by Filipino brothers Bjorn De La Cruz and Samuel Ware, unveiled The Golden Cristal Ube Donut in an Instagram post that gave the public a first look at the confection, as well as revealing its $100 price tag.

Brooklyn needs to get over itself.
The purple yam filling they're describing is delicious, but it's peasant food there....

Serendipity has done this for decades, but it's on East 60thstreet in Manhattan and caters to the rich and famous.
I have eaten at serendipity. Usually dessert. The line to get in is, always long.
The regular frozen hot chocolate, with no gold, runs about 15$, and it's 'HUGE. Enough for three ppl rly.

Nice to look at but even if I was a billionaire, no way. I'm too tight with money, and that's a lot of beer. chuckle.gif
