Massachusetts and Vermont officials will withhold payments from the contractor behind the states’ malfunctioning Obamacare exchanges, the Boston Globe reported Thursday.

CGI Group is the main contractor in charge of both Massachusetts’ and Vermont’s state exchanges, as well as the federal site HealthCare.gov.

good.png How much money has been spent already for this? Over a billion at least. Now we're getting into the next phase, sticker shock.
It's apparent this is not going to work in it's present form.

They have plenty of money,,,sure they could care less,,,

though also sure .fed will pay them,,,if the states won't,,,

keep trying to keep all this clean looking,,,seems they

could have at least spent 40 million to make it all work,,,

though many companies said they could do it for less,,,

but guess the desire is too great,,,just got to get all they

can out of this,,,going to be an interesting year,,,

and an expensive one...

In fact,,,this healthcare system is so far gone,,,

and the United States spent all the money on

Romp and Stomp,,,so socialism is the only answer

left,,,and just like we all have to pay for our neighbors,,,

regardless of any sins,,,Australia and Canada should

have to pay for the United States healthcare...

Way more than it should have cost. I got through it but believe me when I say It sucked. I spent a lot of time trying to understand the questions and what they wanted. It had to be perfect or you though things were ok when they were not. When we first tried the site my wife ask me for my social security card, mine is over 50 years old. After looking at it I realized that my first name and middle name was reversed, and had been that was all my life. We waited until I went to the SS office and worked out the problem. Then it went right through.

A navigator would have taken us right through and now I could step someone through easily but navigators are hard to come by here. Mary had to help people at work, educated people, that were pulling their hair out. Her employer went from paying $800 a month per employe for insurance to paying nothing and they have already said they are going to pay the fine rather than provide help with insurance. That's a $9600 a year decrease in pay. The people are angry and demoralized. A lot of key people are leaving. Short sited. By the time they realize what has happened the place is going to be a mess.

destroying healthcare,,,destroying the middle class,,,

but hey,,,who needs workers???,,,we got printing presses...

I been trying to tell ya. We are one of the millions. We just believe that if people help each other they can get by in spite of the powers that be. Employers that do this kind of thing are showing what they really think of people. We are expendable , until it starts to hurt them. Then they are sooooo sweet. Very bad Karma.

Hi Wayne5,

I don't know,,,some of these businesses have been paying

the insurance for 10 or 20 years,,,and now,,,not going to,,,

so not sure they are all bad people all of a sudden,,,think it

has to do with obamacare,,,lots of uncertainty,,,this is one thing

businesses seem to fear the worse,,,not sure what the future

is going to hold,,,can't plan anything,,,so take the easy out,,,

get rid of the insurance,,,and now you are on your own,,,

but .gov dependent...

No not all bad people at all. There is a company in my town owned by a christian man that builds equipment for the oil and gas industry. The people that work for him would work for free if they could. He labored over healthcare because he needed a level of care for himself and he didn't want his people to get less than what he got. I haven't heard how it ended up but God bless him no matter what he did.

Blue Cross is covering my wife and I for less than my wife's employer was paying all along. My wife's employer had to choose to do this when they didn't have to.

So there are good people and bad people. All things happen for good to those that love the Lord. People may leave and my wife may get a promotion.

As for being dependent on the government. When I had a mortgage I was dependent to a certain extent on the interest deduction in order to afford the house. Soon I will be on medicare I have paid medicare tax and so has my wife. We will get SS and we paid into the system for most of our lives. Are you saying you are going to pass on any of these things? We have never collected unemployment even though we have been unemployed. We have never asked for Food Stamps, or any welfare in our lives. None of that makes us any better than those that have. I am glad that those that are in need get something, when bankers are bailed out by the trillions.

If things get bad I will go to the river and fish, and in the mouth of the fish will be a gold coin. I will take it and buy what I need, mostly cat food, I don't eat that much. chuckle.gif

Obamacare has its, his, share of fault, but there is plenty of blame to go around. The conservatives won't come to the table and try to fix it and have no plan for what to do if it is repealed. I can be persuaded to get on the band wagon just give me something to work with. If I hear a good idea I"m all for it.

Hi Wayne5,

Well good for you,,,and not my job to fix everything,,,

but,,,we could have left everything alone,,,and insured the

uninsured as a first step,,,take it from there,,,healthcare in

the US was/is expensive,,,it had its faults,,,it also had its

successes,,,it did not need to get destroyed and replaced

by something that is not working right now,,,and is going to

be extremely expensive,,,and for the short term is going to have

many millions more uninsured than before,,,anyway,,,I am getting

a headache,,,later...

Now we are in perfect agreement! Everything you said I agree with. It is a shame this happened when it didn't have to.

But it did. So we have to live with what we got.

If you and I were locked in a room and told not to come out until we had a solution I am confident that we could do it. AND do it well.

why did they rid so many's coverage when they couldn't even afford to offer any working coverage online for those who lost their coverage? A billions dollars of taxpayers money to squalor the billion on shït then get nothing done, spout lies and then lie about the lie,s about the lies. Lie that it won't start for a year and then rid millions of coverage because it will put more money in healthcare not have millions of people covered who may get hurt in the mean time ringing up even higher bills becuase they are not covered now! What a racket,And a not very well planned our extortion racket on the American people by our beloved very own Commander in Chief President Barack Obama! Who thinks he is ahead of any branch of government and can walk all over congress and the Constitution! Wow what a world! So my question is how many are going to jail for not getting healthcare, this is an attack on the poor and it will imprison many down the road and murder many others in many other inconceivable ways yet known! Hope you all enjoy living with that and knowing you all caused it on those misunfortunate that you too will soon become no matter how hard you hide!!!
