So, hubby could only find marlin steaks and he bbq'd them. He liked it but mine was oceany (watery) tasting and chewy, so I was not impressed.

I would not have thrown it away if I had planned on eating fish for dinner.

Was it prepared wrong or is the fish itself not pleasant in texture and flavor?

I think hubby overcooked the marlin steak because the texture was chewy and the taste was unusual, perhaps not to my taste. However, I do like swordfish.

"The fishmonger said to bake them".

Maybe baking instead of bbq'ing was the way to go. dunno.gif

Looks like it might be hmm.gif

Quote:Bake at 350 degrees F for 7 minutes on each side. Marlin has it's own strong flavor and can be cooked or marinaded with just about anything. Garlic, butter, lemon and parsley are ine. Try olive oil, balsamic vinegar and rosemary if you like. Marlin can certainly be pan fried or broiled too.

Yes, baking tends to dry out food to a lesser extent, I find. Anyway, tonight it's left overs...whatever we can find.
