My meatloaf is pretty basic. Brush a lb of frozen ground beef with ketchup and put it in the oven chuckle.gif

But ribs I put in a roasting pan covered with water and bake for a couple hours. Drain and brush with bbq sauce then bake until crispy (turning and brushing again several times). drool.gif

We don't do basic chuckle.gif

This is the recipe we usually use with modifications.

That meatloaf recipe is almost the same as my own recipe, minus the veal.

I'm making a turkey today, it's cooler though it never got warmer than 24C it's still overcast so a good day to have the oven going. I don't know why people think turkey is only for special holidays, we stock up when it's on sale.

Turkey is so inexpensive now that my sis buys if often and cooks it for the cats (she has 13 of them now).

Dinner tonight will probably be out at a restaurant because hubby is driving me to work this afternoon and picking me up at dinner time.

Yeah, we don't put veal in ours either. The way it's raised is pretty cruel, and I don't care for it anyway.

I agree that's one of the reasons I don't eat veal or lamb.

I'm not really crazy about turkey, it's a little bland for my taste, but I'll eat it 13.gif

Now about the meat cake, it's basically a salty layer cake chuckle.gif

I make a lot of buckwheat wraps and they're great for so many things, but you could use regular tortillas just as well I imagine.

I fry my wraps in oil till they get a little crispy, not too crispy so you can't cut through without crumbling them. Just leave them to cool on a rack till you're ready to assemble it.

Spread some guacamole and cheese and meat on layer one, veggies, lettuce, onion, peppers, tomatoes and more guacamole on the second layer and some other meat or whatever you fill your 3rd layer with. Then press it together and cut in quarters and devour. It's too good drool.gif

Looks sloppy and is difficult to eat, but we don't care. chuckle.gif
