ofcourse its a football ;

but notice the patches? they are not complete at the centre of each line. The open lines represent door ways.

Our lives are one of those patches ......... we live and choose a way of life. When we die we close and open a door to another life, but the door we open depends on the life we lived. Its our choice what to do in this life, but the next life all depends on what & how we've done it.

Sonmi-451: Our lives are not our own. From womb to tomb, we are bound to others. Past and present. And by each crime and every kindness, we birth our future.

I hope this helps

Hm.

Maybe so.
I'd say bad shït still just happens to you,
however strong the illusion of control of
choice.

Well, at least death is something completely
one's own.

First we need to learn which patch leads to the correct door; and yes along the road we will meet obstancles, and ofcourse shït happens. It's then that we need to stay strong and do whatever it takes to stay on the right track. Should we twist or jump off to a different road .... then that will lead us to other doorways which in the first place is not what we wanted.

Call it what you want

What's in a name?

It's not what we're called, but who we are.

you have a very deep understanding of the meaning of this fkn great film (the book is much better btw) and its message.
but buddhism is very misunderstood in my opinion. after reading into what they believe i came to the conclusion that they actually don't believe in the reincarnation of what we call soul. they seem - at least to me - to believe that we live further through the memes we create/copy. like a candle that lights up another candle. the candle is our physical body and the flame is the "soul". after that other candle is lit and the "initial" flame went out you no longer can say that the new flame is the same flame/"soul". you understand what i mean?
