Century egg or pidan (Chinese: 皮蛋; pinyin: pídàn), also known as preserved egg, hundred-year egg, thousand-year egg, thousand-year-old egg, and millennium egg, is a Chinese cuisine ingredient made by preserving duck, chicken or quail eggs in a mixture of clay, ash, salt, quicklime, and rice hulls for several weeks to several months, depending on the method of processing.[1]

Through the process, the yolk becomes a dark green to grey colour, with a creamy consistency and an odor of sulphur and ammonia, while the white becomes a dark brown, translucent jelly with salty or little flavour. The transforming agent in the century egg is its alkaline material, which gradually raises the pH of the egg to around 9–12, or more during the curing process.[2] This chemical process breaks down some of the complex, flavorless proteins and fats, which produces a variety of smaller flavorful compounds.

I was just searching for muslim violence against christians and there's a lot to swallow. So, yes, isn't it odd that muslims would choose to visit such a blasphemous location?

I've been wondering lately, why I have to be so tolerant of their religious customs and beliefs, while if I a modern Canadian woman were to visit their country, my religious or non-religious customs and beliefs, that being whatever I deemed appropriate for me to wear or how I behave, such as going into a men only coffee house alone, would not be tolerated there?

Don't any muslims question the various interpretations and theories of their religious writings? Is it truely a lack of education and continuous indoctrination of the masses to hate/destroy those that are are different or have different religious beliefs?

Can't blame them too much after the bombs that have dropped since 9/11.

hug.gif Morning sweetie. Yeah for me it has nothing to do with 'Arab' or 'Muslim' it has everything to do with innocent civilians being slaughtered under the war machine. If someone did to Canada what is being done to Iraq, I be a 'little' angry too.

What needs to happen here is for "radical" Islamic beliefs to be identified and dealt with accordingly so as not to impede upon our cultural and religious choices and freedoms.
