I like you all, but I have noticed that many of you post inflammable articles because you are blowing off steam, venting your emotions. This is the place for venting emotions but don't expect to influence the opinion of anyone that does not agree with you.

I challenge you. The truth is you don't have to distort the facts to make your points. It just takes more effort. I have watched you all, every last one of you is gifted. Our country is soaked in emotions vented by both sides of every issue. No one is winning any of the debates because both sides are so angry they won't except any common truth.

I'm not saying don't post the articles you are posting, I'm saying be critical of them yourselves. Call a spade a spade. Make your points on the truth in the article and be critical of the distortions yourself. It troughs people off when you do it because they are not used to seeing people admit the parts that are wrong. It makes them listen to you. It gives you influence. It makes you part of the solution.

Don't expect to win them over in a day. The object of the game is to get them to listen to your point of view and not get them so angry they won't ever listen to you again. They will eventually start agreeing with you on the things that are right.

Be willing to be persuaded. We are all wrong sometimes. Even me (not really I'm just trying to make you feel good).

Use humor, it works. When you loose your temper you loose, when they loose their temper you win.

Here's a site about the Elements of Debate, it might be helpful.

You might ask "What right does this arrogant son of a bitch have to tell me this?"

Thank you for your time.

Coyotes, Owls, Bobcats, Mountain Lions, Dogs, Rattle Snakes, Copperheads, 18 wheelers, drunk drivers, freezing cold, scorching heat, sickness, poison left on the ground, yup I got them. Its a wonder there are any cats at all.

I do everything "as unto the Lord" brings me good karma. I've seen what bad karma does to people.

Lose and loose are not the same word.

Lose has a "z" sound. Loose has an "s" sound.

A child might lose a tooth or a game. Your tooth might be loose but you know where it is. You cannot loose a game.

Lose is a verb. Loose is an adjective.

A person with loose morals might lose their soul.

My job is done here.

Pray for me. hug.gif

Yup Texas, born in Ft Worth, where the west begins. When I was in High School we were number one in almost everything, now we are number 50. The word Texas comes from the Tajas Indians, it means friendly, we are no longer friendly like we usta be.

I apologize if I sounded unfriendly. Nice to meet you Softy.

I suspect starting & maintaining the site, along with paying the bills around here has a wee bit to do with it. hmm.gif Other than that, I can't say I've ever given it much thought. chuckle.gif
