I don't think what they use is dangerous but I'm not sure. damned.gif Does it help? Have you lived there long enough to notice a difference from not spraying?

There's not been any spraying of that nature over here as far as I know. I don't know if terminating mosquito larvae would affect the feed for all the breeding birds up here. It would seem there's plenty for everyone even with a couple of billion less. 13.gif

Quote:Bti is a naturally-occurring soil bacterium that is EPA-registered for use directly in ponds as a microbial larvicide. Once ingested by mosquito larvae, it quickly affects their gastro-intestinal cavity, then the entire body cavity, preventing the larvae from developing into biting, breeding adults.

That's quite interesting. They seem to have found a magic bullet, but I can't help but wonder what the long term effects are. Even natural things can become a hazard when you concentrate them.
At any rate, it beats the heck out of pesticides and mosquitoes.

damned.gif I see. Very nasty stuff. We have lots of mosquitoes, but none carry any type of lethal agents.
Still, they are very annoying.
