I don't know where this new sense of exploration Mason has developed comes from. He decides where we go and once in a while takes a completely new turn, like today.
We were walking and Mason all of a sudden wants to cross the road. There's just a dirt track on the other side of the road and I have no idea how he knew it was there, we haven't walked there before....
Icy puddles
And these poor little jackdaws trying to keep each other warm
Mason is keeping things interesting for you..heh
looks like perhaps an animal path he was showing you
the bird pic is great..well they all are(pics)
you seriously should go pro
It's my favorite place to go!

Kids use those trail for their dirt bikes, mopeds and such. In the winters they are used as trails for snowsleds, which compact the snow and make them excellent to walk on.
Mason has developed new traits over the years. Out of the blue he starts a new thing as if it's something he contemplated before implementing
His eyesight and hearing isn't that great anymore, but he has a scary good grasp of the layout of this town. Even when choosing a new route.
It's like he's mapping our town...
Oh and thanks again @nightmare for the compliments on the photos.
I should get a better camera perhaps, my phone cam isn't even that great 😬
I cant see much in way of the images there but i can see how scary it must be walking in that forested path at night. You are lucky you can explore in nature...id have to travel far to experience that. One of the downsides of living in dense city

It's not really that out in the woods, it's still in town. Residential area about 50 meters to the left and the lumber yard 50 meters to the right. It gets way scarier in the real woods
@nightmare I know it looks like animal trails, we have plenty of those too when you get into the wilderness.
But there are reports of wolves seen in that exact area around that trail 🐺
