For the fifth time running, Finland ranked as the happiest country in the world in the latest World Happiness Report (siirryt toiseen palveluun), an annual, independent survey organised by the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network.

All the Nordic countries remained among the top ten this year. The high rankings for this group of nations was in part attributed to "strong social cohesion, excellent work-life balance and free education and health care."

World Happiness Report 2022 rankings

1. Finland

2. Denmark

3. Iceland

4. Switzerland

5. Netherlands

6. Luxembourg

7. Sweden

8. Norway

9. Israel

10. New Zealand

Yep, free stuff = happiness, less worry, less stress, more free time to live life on your terms.

I wish sofas were free, I need a new one and they cost a small fortune.

Interestingly, nobody in Finland believes there's a thing such as "free stuff"

To me, a work/life balance is more free time, so that's one free thing. But yeah, somehow governments always manage to slip in some way to get the people to pay for everything. Just like free shipping, it's hidden in the price of the item.

We have no free stuff. Everything is expensive. We have a market economy and we pay for "free stuff" with tax money. Nobody thinks anything else or you're incredibly stupid or naive

Even more free time with a work/life balance? Or is that also a sham?

A lot of ppl cut down on work hours to have more time for other things in life. Unfortunately not all can afford to do that. Probably those who need it most can't afford that..

Do you believe there's a thing such as free stuff? Just curious

The fact that rich people get free stuff and poor people have to pay, it's backwards.

Yes I do, if you really want it you can take it, and it's free.
