There's no stopping this avalanche called spring. It happens quickly and there's so much nesting on right now.
The ice on the river broke earlier this week
and now there's a seagull couple by the hydro plant. They're there every year, at least I think it's the same couple. They get real hostile when their babies hatch. I could never walk there when that happens
It's so wonderful to hear all these birds after a long silent winter. A lot of snow effectively silences all sounds and spring arrives as poured out of a bucket; everything at once and it's all intense.
The common blackbird is one of my favorite songbirds
It's +10C and sunny here right now, but forecast for Monday is +3 and sleet ,😬
It's ok, it's not rained for weeks, it really dusty everywhere so I'm looking forward to some rainy days.
Here's the view down stream from the hydroplant bridge. I could fall asleep to that sound...
I clicked play on the Blackbird vid, and then clicked play on the water vid and did fall asleep 😂

I saw a commercial on the Calm app that has different sounds on loop like that. The same water sound was playing and they say it's called brown noise
Aaaand it's snowing
My great horned owl arrived this morning-meaning spring is near..around the bend
my guess is 2 to 3 weeks
when the owl first shows up & hoo hoo hoos it's like it's sayin 'hang in there it's coming (spring)-heh

I'm not one bit surprised
Sooo, it went from heavy snow to +16C real fast.
Spring is back on!
I took the below pic before the last snowfall. Today I walked by there and there were a lot more of them.

This I had to snap today on my way home from the store.
By the tree I saw my first Anemone Hepatica. It probably has some English name where it grows elsewhere in the world.

Between the foot of the house and that rim of snow I spotted some Scilla growing.

That's a south facing wall and there was still snow in the afternoon in +16C degrees
Note the buds on the tree too, I think it's a bird cherry.
